Possible but limited. Naha city is accessible by monorail and bus. Highway buses reach northern areas (Churaumi Aquarium). However, a rental car is recommended for flexible travel.
Do I need travel insurance?
Strongly recommended. Medical costs in Japan are expensive without insurance. A clinic visit costs 5,000-15,000 JPY, emergency room 30,000-100,000+ JPY. Always get travel insurance before your trip.
Is English spoken in Okinawa?
English is available at tourist spots, hotels, and some medical facilities, but most shops and restaurants operate in Japanese only. Prepare a translation app or basic Japanese phrases.
When is the best time to visit Okinawa?
