Daiko is a designated driver service unique to Japan. After drinking, a professional driver comes and drives YOUR car home while you ride as a passenger. Unlike a taxi, your car comes home too!

Can I use daiko with a rental car?
Yes! Daiko services in Okinawa are happy to drive rental cars. This is very common for tourists.
Do they accept credit cards?
Some operators do. Use the "Credit Card" filter on our directory to find them.
How long do I have to wait?
Usually 10-30 minutes. Friday nights and year-end party season can be longer. Call early!
Can I stop at a convenience store?
Usually yes, but a small waiting fee (~¥200 per 5 minutes) may apply.
What about early morning surcharges?
After 4 AM, most operators add ¥500-1,000 surcharge.
